Women's Skate Park Meetup
June 13th, 2025 at 11 a.m.
Northside D.I.Y. Skatepark, Fort Collins, CO
This gathering is ideal for women who want to meet women in their community and skate. It doesn’t matter if it’s brand new to you or if you’re perfecting your 15-stair ollie, come hang. Skate parks can feel intimidating, but not if we go together.
Skateboarding, Longboarding, and Rollerskating are all welcome!
Event Overview
We will meet at Northside D.I.Y. Skate Park in Fort Collins, CO (just north of Old Town) at 11:00 a.m. We will have a picnic in the nearby grass and get to know one another a bit. Whenever people are feeling confident, we can go into the park and start skating around. There are a few features at this park, so if you want to try something hard you absolutely could. The Poudre river trail is right next to the park, so if you’re just trying to cruise on a longboard or get the hang of being on a board, we can do that too!
Facilitator and Guides:
This experience will be facilitated by Fran, the founder of Empowered to Explore. Fran has very little skating skills, but a zest for the sport! This event is all about getting together and learning from each other rather than a structured lesson
Logistics
You’ll need your own board, but Fran will be in town all weekend so if you want to purchase your own and want a buddy, reach out and we can meet up!
I didn’t cap registration on this short event, so bring all your friends. Be sure to register so that I have enough food for our picnic, see you later skater
