Women's Western Weekend
July 18th - July 20th
Pagosa Springs, Colorado
This retreat is ideal for women who want to have an exciting cowgirl weekend! The ride will be two hours long, a perfect trip for someone who doesn’t frequently ride horses.
Event Overview
We will be fully immersed in nature for the weekend , camped just east of Pagosa Springs and just a walk away from the horses. On Friday, we will spend the evening setting up camp, meeting the horses, and getting to know one another. On Saturday we will have a slow morning, crafting leather jewelry and resting. In the afternoon, were going to ride horses and get a chance to feed them and learn about saddling. Sunday morning, we will get to hone in our archery skills at the campsite before wrapping up– come pretend like you live in the Wild West with us!
Facilitator and Guides:
This experience will be facilitated by Fran, the founder of Empowered to Explore. Fran is a certified Women’s Guidance Facilitator, a Wilderness First Responder, and has been professionally facilitating outdoor learning experiences for 7 years. She brings an introspective element into exploring the outdoors which allows you to more deeply connect with yourself, your intuition, and your confidence through your adventures.
The horseback rides will be facilitated by Lilly, our cowgirl extraordinaire for the weekend! Lilly has been a professional horseback guide for four years and spends her summer riding and training horses. She is not afraid of anything and is very knowledgeable on all things ‘horse’ related. Come ready to ask all your questions, because she’s got the answers!
Logistics
All meals (2 Dinners, 2 Breakfasts, 2 lunches), camping fees, and materials are included in the price of registration. If you need any camping gear, we have rental items available, just indicate your need for gear on your registration form.
Pagosa Springs can be a tricky location to get to if you’re not already in the area! Its about a 5 hour drive from Denver, otherwise, the closest airport is the Durango - La Plata Airport which is roughly 1..5 hour drive from the cabin. If you will be needing transportation assistance, please reach out via email to discuss options.
Note: Tiered Pricing includes the same experiences and accommodations, we simply offer different tiers to offer opportunities for people to join these spaces at a rate that best works for them and their financial situations.
This retreat will have a slightly smaller group (8), so make sure if you’re interested, you book early!
